China Southern Airlines
10 Aircraft Approved to Offer Wi-fi in the Air

The Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (CMIIT) has officially approved six domestic airlines to offer the service of in-flight wi-fi, using ku-band satellite. This is the first time the service has been allowed to be used in such a wide range in China.

Last September and March, CMIIT twice approved China Southern and China Eastern to offer the temporary inflight wi-fi service on specified routes, during which time China Southern’s passengers were able to enjoy the service on Beijing-Guangzhou routes. It’s yet to be decided which routes the 10 modified A330 the services will be put into.
