China Southern Launches Direct Service to Africa
2015-08-31

On 5th August, China Southern Airlines officially launched its Guangzhou-Nairobi route, which is the first non-stop service by a Chinese air carrier to Kenya, and is presently the only service by a Chinese airline company between China and Africa. Its opening is an important measure of China Southern to implement the One Belt and One Road strategy and the agreement of China-Africa leaders in enhancing regional aviation cooperation.

The new Guangzhou-Nairobi flight is operated three times a week by an A330. The duration is 11 hours. The flight departs from Guangzhou at 00:45am and arrives in Nairobi at 7:00am; the return flight takes off at 1:35pm and arrives in Guangzhou at 5:50am the following day (all local times). During the promotion period, ticket fares are as low as RMB 4900 for a return economy ticket. For more details please visit our official website: www.csair.com.

After arriving in Nairobi, passengers can easily connect to nearly 40 African cities such as Addis Ababa and Johannesburg with Kenya Airways. Similarly, African passengers arriving at Guangzhou can take connecting flights to 39 Chinese cities and some international cities such as Sydney and Melbourne. Transit times for most flights are no more than three hours.
